Frequently Asked Questions
What types of psychological assessments do you provide?
I provide comprehensive evaluations for learning differences, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, cognitive functioning, social-emotional concerns, memory issues, and personality disorders. Each assessment is individualized to meet the unique needs of the client, whether a child or an adult.

How long does a psychological assessment take?
Assessments typically take 2–4 sessions, depending on the age of the client and the type of evaluation. We will start with an intake session, move into testing sessions, and end with a feedback session to discuss the results of your evaluation.

Are psychological assessments confidential?
Yes. All results and reports are confidential and shared only with clients or authorized individuals, in accordance with privacy laws and ethical guidelines.

How soon will I receive the results?
The assessment process typically takes 4-6 weeks from the intake session to the feedback session.
What happens after the assessment?
After the assessment, you’ll receive a comprehensive report summarizing the findings and outlining clear, practical recommendations tailored to your needs. I provide guidance for implementing supports at school, work, or home and can help connect you with additional providers—such as educational therapists, psychiatrists for medication management, mental health therapists, or occupational therapists—if further support is needed.

How do I schedule an assessment?
You can schedule an appointment by calling my office or emailing me. First, we will schedule a 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your questions and go over the assessment process.

What should I remember for my child’s testing day?
Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep before testing and eats a healthy breakfast in the morning. Your child is welcome to bring a water bottle and a small snack to help maintain energy throughout the day.

Medications should be taken as usual unless we have discussed otherwise. If your child takes ADHD medication, I typically recommend holding it on the morning of testing. I provide play materials for breaks as needed, so there’s no need to bring electronic devices.

What should I remember for my testing day?
Try to get a good night’s sleep before your appointment and eat a healthy breakfast to support focus and energy. Take any prescribed medications as usual, unless we have discussed otherwise. You’re welcome to bring a water bottle and a small snack to help maintain energy throughout testing.

How much do assessments/testing cost?
Every evaluation is unique. No two clients receive the same set of tests because I tailor each assessment to meet the individual’s specific needs and referral questions. The total cost of the full assessment process typically ranges from $3,500 to $6,500. I also offer a sliding scale for college students to help make testing more accessible. If you have any questions about pricing or fees, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Most of the evaluation process actually takes place behind the scenes. I spend a significant amount of time reviewing background information, scoring and interpreting test results, writing the report, and developing thoughtful recommendations. This portion of the work represents much of the billed time. I understand it can be difficult to wait for the final report, and I appreciate your patience as I ensure that the results are thorough, accurate, and helpful.

Where is your office located?
My office is located in Old Town Pasadena on Oakland Ave. There are multiple paid parking garages nearby (40 S. Oakland Ave., 44 S. Madison Ave., 65 N. Madison Ave.). Since assessments usually involve 2 – 4 hour sessions, parking in a parking garage/lot is recommended.
